BlueScope Building Up Grants

This grant can be used to access services, including tele-health services, programs as well as support they need for their home-schooling including tutoring or technology support.

BlueScope is our founding partner, and this grant demonstrates its continued support. ‘Building Up’ is to assist our young Australians living with a disability invest in their overall educational, physical and mental well-being.

“We are proud to support a grant that is specifically for these times,” said Mark Vassella, BlueScope Managing Director & CEO. “Some of our people have volunteered time to support Sport Access Foundation, and we have seen the difference its grants can make. We are delighted this grant will be used to access services, including tele-health, and other support programs such as tutoring or technology for remote learning. This grant will help ensure our young Aussies keep ‘Building Up’ their mental and physical health during these times.”

Eligibility Criteria

  • Funds to help our young Australians come out better than ever.
  • Funds can be used to invest in mental and health services including mobile services, online programs and equipment to support for home schooling and additional tutoring or technology, as well as telehealth services.
  • Applications will close on Friday 21st August, 2020.
  • Recipients notified by the end of October.
  • Previous recipients will not be able to apply for 2020 grants.
  • Funds are to be spent by 1 March 2021.
  • All receipts and acquittals forms must be submitted.
  • If awarded a grant, accept the T&Cs including publishing details of your name, age, place of residence, sporting club, and photos.

Of the 2017 and 2018 Sport Access Foundation grant recipient Our Honor Roll, whose story do you relate to most and why?

The Harvey Heroes grant is provided to ensure young children aged 7-12 years living with a disability are linked in with a local sporting club. It is a requirement of this grant that you are currently a Member of a Club or that you provide details of the Club you intend to join.

Sport Access Foundation Pathway to Paralympics grants are for young Australians aged 13-17 years with a disability who have aspirations to achieve the highest representation in their sport and as a minimum have already represented their state or country in their sport. Applicants must be a member of a Club.
