Achieve Australia Casino Fun Run Unites Community for Inclusion and Sport

The Achieve Australia Casino Fun Run has once again shown the power of community spirit and inclusion, with this year’s event bringing together 540 runners and walkers in Casino, NSW.

Founded by Paralympic gold medallist and Sport Access Foundation (SAF) founder Katie Kelly in 2013, the Fun Run has grown to become one of the most inclusive regional running events in Australia. Each year, the event strives to break down barriers to participation and create a welcoming space where every ability is celebrated.

This year’s event was made possible through the generous support of major sponsor Achieve Australia, alongside contributions from Richmond Valley Council, Little Athletics Casino, Casino RSM Club, Parker & Kissane Solicitors, Casino Fitness, the Lions Club of Casino, and George & Fuhrmann. Their commitment ensured the run was not only a true community celebration but also a platform for raising vital funds.

Thanks to these sponsors, volunteers, and participants, the event raised over $9,000. Proceeds will go directly to supporting Sport Access Foundation and Little Athletics Casino, helping more children, including those with disabilities, to access and enjoy the benefits of sport.

The 2025 Fun Run was particularly special with support from Bundjalung community members and Indigenous Marathon Foundation graduate, Eileen Byers. We were so pleased once again to have Eileen Byers as our Ambassador; her presence embodied the spirit of resilience, community leadership, and inclusivity that the Fun Run represents.

Since its humble beginnings in 2013, the Casino Fun Run has grown into not only a beloved community fixture but a national example for what inclusive sport in regional towns can achieve. With over a decade of progress, it continues to evolve each year, building on its legacy of accessibility, community connection, and opportunities for children with disability.

The Sport Access Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to all sponsors, participants, volunteers, and the wider Casino community who contributed to this year’s success.

We can’t wait to see you back on the start line in 2026!
