The first-ever international Women's Blind Cricket Series between Australia and Pakistan took place in Australia, with Australia hosting the series in Brisbane. The five-match series, played from April 20-25, 2025, marked a significant milestone for women's blind cricket in Australia. The series was a 1-all result.
A major highlight at Wally Tate Park for the series, when Australian opening batter, Courtney Lewis crouched low, as she sprinted for the single that etched her name into history: 109. The first Australian woman to score a century in international blind cricket had not just anchored her team’s total of 195/2, she’d redefined what resilience looks like in adaptive sports.
As Lewis raised her bat, she didn’t just celebrate a personal milestone, she empowered all Australians by showing her true strength and grit in both her performance, and as an Australian legend who has always found a way to achieve one of the highest honours of a Baggy Green, and now a first in women’s blind cricket.
