Our Grants

Grants Program

Sport Access Foundation provides annual grants for children and young people with a disability. These grants can be used for any project that helps to build participation in sport and to ensure that no-one gets left on the sidelines.

What each Grant involves:

As a grant recipient you:
Receive the amount specified in the grant you applied for. This money can be spent according to the conditions of the specific grant you have been awarded. Some grants have fairly strict conditions on what the money can be spent and others are open and flexible and you can spend the money based on your needs (e.g. special or general equipment, uniforms, registration fees, travel, accommodation costs and coaching).
Get a Sport Access Foundation starter pack, which will include samples and products from our sponsors and supporters, as well as a welcome interview to provide guidance on goal setting and planning.
Become a Member of the Sport Access Foundation Honour Roll and will form part of a developing Alumni.

Grant Application Process:

The application process is quite simple. All applicants must apply online on our webpage before the application closing date. Before applying please check the various grants we offer as well as their different eligibility criteria.

After the closing date Sport Access Foundation reviews all applications to confirm their eligibility.

Please note: our application system only saves applications if you have 'cookies' enabled on your computer. It is suggested that you turn this function on AND prepare your responses in a word document and save it to your computer (just in case). You can then copy and paste your answers into the online application form.

Grant Selection Process:

All eligible applications will be passed on to the SAF Selection Committee who will decide on a shortlist of applicants.

This shortlist is provided to the SAF Selection Panel which is made up of 3-4 individuals from corporate Australia, sporting Australia and the community at wide and who are independent of the SAF Board and the SAF Selection Committee. The SAF Selection Panel will decide on the recipients and their decision is final. There is no appeal process for unsuccessful applicants. However, unsuccessful applicants may apply for future grants offered by Sport Access Foundation.

Our grants are awarded at the sole discretion of Sport Access Foundation to applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and the conditions of the grant.
