Our goal is to ensure that young Australians living with a disability can be active and achieve their sporting goals. To this end Sport Access Foundation provides annual grants for children and young people with a disability. These grants can be used for any project that helps to build participation in sport and to ensure that no-one gets left on the sidelines.
The inaugural grant was launched in January 2017. We received 29 applications, 3 of which were awarded a grant of $2000 each. In 2018 already one hundred children applied for one of our grants, and again we gave out 3 grants of $2000 each. For previous recipients please visit our Honour Roll.
For 2019 we will introduce more grants to ensure we can reach as many young Aussies who need assistance to access sport in their communities. With the introduction of more and different grants in 2019, Sport Access Foundation will be able to provide different types and levels of support.
